Dr. Al-Jaber is the former Minister of Information and Communication Technology in Qatar. Prior to this, Dr. Al-Jaber held the position of Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR). Dr. Hessa was a Member of the Shura Council (Consultative Assembly). Dr. Al-Jaber is a member of the ITU/UNESCO Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development. She is a Supervisory Board Member of Volkswagen AG, Qatar University’s Board of Regents, Qatar Museums Advisory, Qatar National Library Board of Trustees, and  American School Board of Trustees.

Dr. Hessa received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Kuwait University and her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from The George Washington University.
